Brentwood Super League - Season 5 - Round 3

We are back at Brentwood this week for Round 3 of the championship and after last week’s performance I am excited to hopefully try to keep the momentum going of being in a similar spot to where I was last week.

First up was quali and for me this I thought went well even though during this I thought my kart was bad but when I called to head to the grid first it was a pleasant surprise. So I started on pole for the first heat and when I tried pulling away from the pack they just kept on catching up so for pretty much the whole race I had to defend my position and surprisingly I managed to hold this for the whole race which I very happy about and finished in P1.

However, the quali for Heat 2 was much more different where I thought the kart was good however it was bad, and I qualified P8 which I wasn’t too annoyed about but for this I started on the outside which is a place you never want to be especially on the start. As the race started I found a gap on the inside and managed to hold my position so was a good start and from there I managed to gain some places and I was up to P5 however on the last lap I went wide at the hairpin and ended up losing 2 places and finished In P7 to finish but I managed to move up a place so this wasn’t an awful race at all and this put me P5 in the A final which I was happy about and I didn’t get a grid penalty from last week either so this put me in a good position for the start.

As the A final got underway I managed to gain 1 place off the start and managed to slot into P4 before quickly making a move for P3 however the kart behind me was very quick and I eventually lost a position to him putting me back to P4 however as the two karts ahead of me battled I capitalised and manged to overtake one of them putting me back into P3 and me and P2 worked together to pull away from the raging pack behind and then we battled for the last few last but unfortunately I wasn’t able to get past P2 but I managed to finish in P3 which I was really pleased about and once again finished in the top 3 on track for the second week in a row.

Next week I will have a 6 place grid penalty as I am a seeded driver but if I can carry on consistently putting in these A final finishes then I will move up the championship order and hopefully begin to compete for the top spot in the championship, but this was a great week and ready to see what next week has to offer.
